About

An entrepreneur at heart, Chee-Young co-founded NowSecure with her husband Andrew Hoog. That is where she operated the finance and accounting department for the company with a shoe-string budget. After exiting the company in 2016, she was on several nonprofit Boards, including being the Treasurer of KAN-WIN. That is where she got her “ah ha” moment.

Nonprofits were very similar to startups, both being founded by passionate entrepreneurs with very limited resources. But unlike startups, nonprofit organizations have slightly different financial and accounting needs. For instance, they are required to have a Board of Directors, which also means being able to produce meaningful financial reports for its members. Also, if the organization is to take on Federal grants, they needed to be audited.

Chee-Young’s next chapter is to help nonprofits navigate the finance and accounting functions so that they can focus on what matters the most, their missions. She brings over 20 years of her expertise and knowledge and helps nonprofits break down their accounting and bookkeeping process to one that is manageable and accurate using the latest technology.
